From the balcony of Melantrich House, which once was the home of a publishing company, Václav Havel gave his speeches which initiated the fall of the communist regime in 1989.The building has been completely renovated in 2004 and offers excellent accommodation for a pleasant stay, including a 24 h front desk and a fitness and wellness centre.
