My wife and I stayed at the Golden Wheel for 5 nights during our honeymoon, in early May 2007. Everything, starting from our booking (via email) to our check out has been perfect. Hotel location is ideal. For the ones that think about staying in Stare Mesto, in the Historic town centre, near the astronomical clock square, I urge them to think it over. Mala Strana (Lesser town) is the best place to stay in Prague. Romantic, cozy, more aristocratic and not so full of tourists (so quiet when you need it to be). The hotel lies in Nerudova street, a lovely street leading uphill to the castle, but is located only have way up the street, so you avoid climbing all the way up when returning home from the centre. As other reviewers have already mentioned, many nice restaurants can be found in this area; don't miss the "3 Violins", just one block away from the hotel! Hotel reception and staff are superb. Special reference given to Theresa who helped us plan our dinner and concert reservations, as well as our trips outside of Prague. When in the room, you will miss nothing. Everything is totally clean, room service brings you anything the cafe Arcadia (located on the ground floor, next to the reception) serves. Private internet connection in each room really helps conducting any business you have to attend to, while TV is provided with major satellite channels (although I do not think you should care, when in Prague!). Breakfast buffet is quite good with very nice variety of choices. Last but certainly not least, if you ask for superior room with a small private terrace facing the Prague castle (!), you will not be disappointed. Synopsis: If you like the price, you have nothing to think about.

I had a wonderful experience at The Golden Wheel. I have stayed at five star hotels in the past but nothing compared to the quality of service and style of this hotel. I decided to go to Prague for a weekend trip on my own after my friend fell ill and couldn't join me. She really missed out. The service was warm and friendly and everyone, from the receptionists to the breakfast waiters, looked like they genuinely enjoyed their jobs and were happy to help you. The room was more spacious than I ever expected. As an American you don't expect the size and scale of US hotels but this one certainly compared favorably to any US hotel. The only small criticism was that the throw rug near the bed was noticeably stained with dirt or perhaps a coffee spill, and the blankets could have been thicker and warmer and the heater didn't work, but apart from that the room was comfortable, chic and modern. I highly recommend attending a concert at the Litchenstein Palace a few minutes walk from the hotel. Breathtaking. I also recommend The Three Violins restaurant also near the hotel. Excellent. high quality food in a cozy and beautiful environment. I ran into the hotel receptionist Theresa as she was on her way home and asked her for a dinner recommendation near the hotel. She went out of her way to walk into the restaurant to ask if there was a table available. The waiters made a table for me and I ended up having a lovely meal. Thanks to other Trip Advisor members for recommending this hotel. I would not have stayed were it not for the informative reviews. I took one member's advise about taking the bus then the metro into the central part of the city and it was an excellent suggestion. I am always the first to jump into a cab to make life easier but the bus was so simple and cheap.

We stayed in this wonderful hotel for 5 nights. It was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. We looked forward to the buffet breakfast every morning because it was delicious. The location was great and I would stay here again and definately recommend it.

I can't recommend this hotel enough. The staff where so friendly and helpful for every request that was made. The hotel was very nice and extremely clean. The location is steps away from Prague Castle and a 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants right around the hotel.
