"Palace Hotel"

I would highly recommend the Palace Hotel. it is a little bit pricey but the hotel and location are excellent. The service also is first class. Situated just off Wenceslaus Square it is easy to get almost everywhere within the city centre. Breakfast was included in my stay and this again was very nice and served between 7am and 10.30 I was there of course around 9am and the service was first class and English papers were provided. All the staff I saw spoke English. Only draw back is the restaurant prices like all hotels are horrifically expensive a bowl of soup being ?10 but just across the road there is an excellent sandwich shop which does beautiful sandwiches and drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed Prague and yes there is a little bit of grafitti but it gets cleaned off, the locals I met were all very polite and most of the museum staff spoke English. It was weird to see trams and of course they drive on the wrong side of the road. You have to watch their pedestrian crossings the pedestrian has right of way but anyone thinking this will be dead or in hospital within an hour. Palace Hotel, first choice, Rott Hotel second choice, Hoffmeister a bit off the centre third choice

Great central hotel in Prague

We spent three days at this centrally located hotel in Prague, which is a short walk from Wenceslas Square and the Old Town. The hotel is of a very high standard, and they really went to town when we told them it was our wedding anniversary with decorations and champagne in the room. The staff are generally very charming, breakfast is good and the room was very comfortable and well-equipped. There is a nice, if quiet, lobby bar. However, the hotel is marred by the attitude of its 'Club' restaurant staff: we pre-booked a post-opera dinner in the gourmet restaurant, explaining we planned to dine between 10.30 and 11 (the restaurant purports to be open until midnight). When we arrived for dinner, it took some time to locate a grumpy maitre d'it who grudgingly and sarcastically served us a not terribly impressive dinner. Dine at the Bellevue if you want fine dining, not here. And beware of the concierge trying to dissuade you from using the legitimate and excellent AAA taxi firm to the airport: it is cheaper than the hotel car. That said, this is an excellent hotel in every other respect, and it is definitely a good place to stay in Prague.

This is an excellent hotel which is only a five minute walk from the city centre. The rooms are modern, very clean and well facilitated. The hotel staff are attentive and meet all your requests with a pleasant smile and a fast turnaround. There is an extensive range of food for breakfast and I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again.
