We stayed at this hotel in February 2008 on a bed and breakfast basis. Our room was on the top floor and was spotlessly clean. I particularly liked the complimentary Ferrero Rocher chocolates and bottled water! The bathroom was large and stocked with good quality toiletries. Our room was at the front of the hotel and had windows which opened. Rooms at the back of the hotel face on to a courtyard and as far as I could see, had no natural daylight or ventilation. The breakfast was self service - cereal, bread, cheese, meats etc but a cooked menu was offerred also. We had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant which was fine but fairly expensive. The hotel itself is situated just a few metres from Charles Bridge and the old town. Although on the street, there was not much noise. The staff were extremely helpful; we pre-booked the hotel transfer to and from the airport (just by emailing the hotel) with no problems at all. The hotel has 3 floors and no lift - a steep climb of 60 steps to our room but it kept us fit. The upper floors would not be suitable if mobility was a problem but we found it all just perfect.

Comfortable Boutique Hotel with great location

We stayed at Residence U Cerneno Orla for 3 nights in May. Its location is perfect on Mala Strana a minutes walk from Charles Bridge one way and 5 minute walk to the Castle in the other. It is a small family owned hotel with nice touches such as bathrobe and slippers, fruit and chocolates on arrival and dvd's to borrow from reception. The only drawback was our room didn't have a window so felt a bit claustrophic at times and the wooden floors did prove to be a bit noisy. Overall though it was a good place to stay and tea and coffee making facilities would have made it even better.
