We stayed in both The Ventana & The Savic hotel on a weeks visit to the Czech Republic. We found the Ventana to be the superior of the two. Our room was huge with two large windows looking out at the Tyn Cathederal which at night was beautiful. Great selection for breakfast hot & cold. Our room was spotless with a very large comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Overall a super luxury hotel in a fantastic location. Can't be beat.

We stayed at the Ventana on 31st December 2007 for 4 nights and based on our experience we simply cannot understand why the hotel isn’t ranked much much much higher!? Our stay was memorable from the moment we arrived. Before we travelled we had arranged with the hotel to be picked up by car (cost of £24, 850Kr). We were met by the hotel’s driver and whisked off in style (top of the range Mercedes) to the hotel. The journey took about 30 minutes. The welcome at reception was warm and inviting and our cases were swiftly taken to our room. We had booked a standard room but were amazed when we opened the door to see that we had been upgraded to a duplex style loft room - it was enormous and spotlessly clean. We were also delighted to see that there was a complimentary bottle of champagne chilling in an ice bucket. Good selection of satellite television channels and complimentary bottled water is supplied daily. Enjoyed breakfast which offers an excellent selection of both hot and cold food. We had a few drinks in the hotel bar on several occassions and found it reasonably priced for a 5* hotel. I can honestly say that we had no issues during our stay at the hotel and cannot understand some of the negative reviews that have been posted. In terms of it’s location the Ventana is difficult to beat. 2 minutes walk from Old Town square and astronomical clock. 10 minute walk to Charles bridge and Manusev (spelling?) bridge. 15 minute walk to Wenceslas square. 20 minute walk to Castle and the views are definitely worth it when you get there. Ideally situated for good restaurants too. Hertegova Cehlna was by far the best of our dining experiences, with great views across the river and of Charles bridge. Ate at Bombay indian resturant which was excellent. Also had dinner at Cowboys which was just ok, what you would expect from a theme Steak restaurant. Yes. there are probably less expensive hotels in Prague for those seeking a “no frills” city break but if you want total luxury and comfort then the Ventana is the place to stay. We will return in the very near future – it is a fantastic hotel!!
