After reading other reviews on Trip Advisor and getting what we felt was a good price, we booked 2 nights at the Art Hotel. Upon arrival, immediately we knew it was the right decision. Our room was nothing short of sensational (we had been travelling in Turkey for 3 weeks prior). Breakfast buffet was excellent and one night we also had our evening meal in the cafe which was lovely too. Yes the location is out of the hustle and bustle of the city but a good walk doesnt hurt anyone and we found it a pleasure to be just a little out of the way. We tried to book an additional 2 nights but unfortunately they were fully booked. Would highly recommend Art Hotel for a romantic stay - it was lovely.
I have to ditto mucholucky's review: this hotel is excellent, just be aware that it's a bit of a hike to get to. Saying that, if this hotel was more centrally located, we probably couldn't afford it. The huge room with comfortable seating created a more relaxing environment for us than we are used to in Europe. The hotel staff is extremely nice. Breakfast is terrific. I am writing this review on our last night here (with the free wireless internet in our room). A water main line cracked in Prague, so the hotel has no water for several hours. When we returned from an evening walk, we had three bottles of water waiting at our door along with a letter of apology. If you want affordable luxury accomodations and are willing to be a 15- to 20-minute walk away from the city, this is a real find! We didn't fall in love with Prague, but we loved this hotel.

Stayed at the Art in December 2005, and I found the hotel in great condition, very well maintained, with comfortable rooms, nice bathrooms. Staff is very polite and helpful and the price was very affordable, much lower than most european capitals for a hotel of this quality. The only downside is that is located a bit far from the historic city center, next door to a football stadium. In days where there are matches at the stadium, the area tends to get a bit crowded. But all in all, the Art is a very good deal. Taxis in Prague are not expensive, so there's no reason to worry too much.
