hello! i was traveling that week in bratislava, karlovy vary, prague, wein and budapest but here was the best. you can park your car on the street for free, internet conection was by far the greatest, imense rooms, and for real you have 10 min to the city center. you have a pub near you entrance to the hotel where you can eat good, and the bus station it is about 100m. i think i'll go there in the new years eve.

I have trouble with the check out time because the reception only open from 9am to 4pm. It said that I can give the key to the driver but I also couldn't find the driver. In the end I was late to take the train because I need to wait until the reception is open and I need to take the next train which is 2 hours later.

First the bad news! I booked an apartment via [--] and was given as my hotel 'VK Apartments at Janska 7. (I found this on the map and was happy with the location) It then turned out that this was a lower level agency that allocated me to Artesse Apartments - without any notification what so ever. The location of these apartments is not as good and had I known where they were I would not have accepted the offer of the booking. You can see from the following information that it is not a 'central location'. Charles Bridge – 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) National Theater – 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) Prague Castle – 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) Wenceslas Square – 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) Vy?ehrad Castle – 3 kilometers (2 miles) Old Town Square – 3 kilometers (2 miles) National Museum – 3 kilometers (2 miles) Jewish Quarter – 3.5 kilometers (2 miles) There is however, a good tram service nearby and a metro station about half a mile away. The apartment itself was clean, furnished in an old style but with bright covers and curtains etc. No carpets or rugs but a new wooden floor. The bathroom, with bath and shower is very modern, fully tiled and well fitted out. The kitchen is minimum with a nice fridge, small hotplate and, in my case, a microwave on the dressing table! The reception staff were on duty for a reasonable period (9.00 - 4.00?) each day and were very helpful. It was inexpensive and good value - had the location been better I would have been happy and willing to return.

I have to tell, my stay at Artesse was the part I enjoyed the most of Prague, but of course there were positive and negative aspects. Positive: incredibly spacious and nice decorated apartment; nice and varied breakfast served at room 5 minutes after request; the same electronic key opens your apartment and the front door at the street. Negative: the apartment I stayed in was not properly prepared for my stay, so the electronic safe was left closed by the previous guests and Olga from the front desk got upset when I asked her to have it opened, afterwards I did not dare to tell her also the previous guests had left the satellite on and it went therefore locked, of course it needed to be unlocked from the front desk, so I simply turned it off and stayed away from the TV; the cooking corner has nothing to do with cooking but more of a serve-your-food-properly corner, it includes a nice cupboard with kitchenware, a sink and a fridge, but no microwave or space to put your own food in the fridge (there is a sign asking guests not to do so anyway); I found spiderwebs in the corners of the furniture and closets, as well as a big dead spider between the two glasses of the window; the elevator stops in every half-floor, that is not on the same level of the rooms, it remains half floor to carry your luggage up or down the stairs. It might sound crazy but even with all these negative aspects I felt at home whenever I entered the apartment so, even if Artesse has some details to work on, I would definitely go back.
