Hotel Sofia - Prague, Czech Republic 

"Good Value"

The Hotel Sofia is a reasonable hotel in a good location only a ten minute walk from Nemesti Miru Metro Station taking you directly into the heart of Prague, or a 15 -20 minute walk to Wenceslas Square. The room was fine being spacious, and affording a good sized modern bathroom with bath/shower and a televsion and telephone.Heating is provided with central heating which works well. I requested a quiet room, which was located on the top floor!( unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift so I was rather puffed out when I reached my room!) The hotel also lacks airconditioning so in the height of summer this hotel wouldnt be suitable. In winter from October to April though it is a good option. Breakfast was basic but fine with various bread rolls,cold meats,salad,cheese,fruit,yoghurts etc... In my opinion this hotel was satisfactory for this category of hotel.

We were very happy at the Sofia Hotel in Praha and as soon as we retrun to Praha, we will choose Sofia again. Good location, good rooms, good breakfast, good staff. The only complaint I have, which I expressed in the review, is the taxi driver, who overcharged us. As we were not familiar with the currency and with Praha, it was easy for him to cheat us. I found some other tourists who had also been cheated by taxi drivers. There should be a way to stop this from happening. This was the only negative point in Praha. As the hotel knows who will be guests, they could perhaps contact them previously, alerting them against such taxi drivers tricks and telling them what the approximate price from the airport or railways station may be. hotel sofia nice cheap hotel.rooms cleaned every day and breakfast enough to start you off.we found the staff at reception very nice and aggness is the best and so helpful,she is such a nice person and she made myself and husband laugh.nothing was a problem for them and if you wanted anything, they did their best to make sure they satisfied you.we enjoyed our stay and the location was great.
