"Great stay!"Posted: Mon, Nov 23 2009Value:
3My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend in Prague in mid-July. The city is really beautiful and the KK Fenix was an excellent choice.
The Fenix is near the Wenceslas Square and is an easy walk into the Old Town. We never used the bus or metro system as everything was so easy to get to.
I read the reviews on Trip Advisor before leaving and they were all very accurate. We were lucky to get a good price on a deluxe room through expedia and it was very spacious and clean. It is true there are two "cabaret" type places on this street, but I never felt ill at ease. It's not like in Amsterdam where the ladies are dancing in the windows! It was a very discreet operation and we were never bothered by it.
Our room was also facing the street, but we never heard any noise. The windows have double-pane glass. Another benefit is the air conditionning. It was pretty hot while we were there and we were very happy to have it. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Much better than the typical "continental" breakfast you get at most places. There were plenty of healthy and less-healthy options such as fresh fruit salad, cereal, pastries, eggs and the like.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates five star comfort but not five star prices.
