we stayed at the georgio three nights starting 24/5/08. the hotel is a welcome haven from the hustle and bustle of athens. it is beautfully decorated, the staff are friendly, professional and helpful, and our room spotless, spacious and comfortable. i without hesitation recommend this hotel to all. the bed was large and extremely comfortable, the jacuzzi bath fantastic, the breakfast excellent and the roof top pool a welcome distraction. i find it very difficult indeed to say anything negative about it. athens city was the disappointment ! this city of culture spoilt by thieves, beggars and grafetti "vandals" my highlight was a visit to "mars hill" the very place where paul the apostle preached to the athenians as in acts. 17:22.

I was in Athens at the end of March 08 and it was the second time that i booked to Georgio hotel. This time i booked from alpharooms.com for me and my wife and i made 2 vouchers (because i find 1 date more cheap than the other)---Thesrday Friday night. The hotel it was familliar to as from the first time (It is a really above average nice hotel) and the first night past ok(it was without breakfast) In the morning the manager and the people of the hotal teell us to leave our room because they had problems with the second night (they didnt take the money from alpharooms they said to us!!!) Note it was friday morning and more tourists arrived I contact from my cell phone to england -spain(14 euros i paid for 6 contacts) and the representtive from alpharooms told me not to leave that is was everything ok and the hotel manager lie to me that she didnt contact them ever!! Sorry for my english i speak greek but i like to know my story and that i left the hotel to the nearest because they overbooked as do always for the weekend!! Alpharooms.com provide to me assistants they appolojise to me but it not theirs fault they refund me money and 10%discount !!!! As for the hotel staff from the begging i ddint mnot like their faces and look what they did ---- From alpharoms.com---I refer to your email of 31 March regarding the above booking, and apologise again for the delay in our response. The hotel told our supplier that they got a telephone call asking to cancel this reservation. Our supplier has no record of any such request.
