We have just returned from staying at this hotel for a long weekend. We really couldnt fault it for very much.So now down to business. Firstly the check-in staff were very friendly to us and were very efficient in dealing with our booking and geting us to our room quickly. No problems there. Rooms were very funky as you would expect from a boutique hotel all though we had to have our room changed due to a faulty shower but once again this did not faze the staff and a new room appointed straight away.We stayed on the Europe floor.Beware however that the candle and incense in the bathroom are NOT gifts and have to be paid for.The roof top swimming pool was super cool but the beach is always better.Do NOT use their private beach. We went there on our second day at around four in the afternoon to hire a couple of beach beds,no problems there however they charged us for the full day hire which we discovered was a little unfair as most other places offer half day rates and this annoyed us greatly as we were residents and told this the staff there but they still went ahead and charged us. We reccomend you go to the Miramar beach as they do full and half day rates which incidently is cheaper than 314's price but the place has a DJ at 5 o clock in the evening plus a sax player and the vibe is truly amazing and not to loud either. Also the staff at the Miramar were very cool and friendly with a good beach bed service...go there!!! Back to the 314 hotel now....On our second night we decided to go to their restaurant for evening dinner.Oh my God what a DISASTER.The meal was simply dreadful and we ended up asking for both our main courses to be returned to the kitchen. We didnt even try a different dish it was so bad and went hungry as the starter we had plus the bottle of wine came to 60 Euro which they insisted we pay. However with all that said the hotel was very good, we would go back again but this time wouldnt use their beach or restaurant . ... To finalise it was refreshing to stay at an unusual hotel.

Overall, this hotel is simply not worth the ludicrous price of the room purely due to the appallingly arrogant service that should not be expected in a top class hotel. First, the good points, the hotel is in a superb location, has an incredibly funky interior (although this is a little over the top and somewhat pretentious) and certainly not for the more traditional traveller. The roof pool is nice and it’s got a hip feel to it. Now for the bad points. This is probably some of the worst service I have ever encountered in relation to the ridiculous prices charged. The staff are rude and seemingly don’t know what they’re doing. A few examples, I asked the “barman” for a White Russian cocktail and he didn’t know what it was, the same went for a whiskey sour. I then asked for a vodka and apple, he didn’t even shake it, some vodka, a cube of ice, juice and straw and it costs 28 euros (22 pounds). Insane. Breakfast in your room costs 22 pounds and is poor, the milk is longlife, the waiter chucks it down and it’s cold. The scrambled eggs were brand and clearly had zero love put into them. You get yoghurt and a few patisseries. My colleague ordered a cup of tea in the restaurant on one morning, it took twenty minutes, and on arrival it was luke warm and had leaves in it. We ordered a cab and within 1 minute of doing so we decided to cancel it. The concierge looked visibly annoyed and tutted! He clenched his jaw and acted as if we’d slapped his mother. Very rude, arrogant and petulant little man. We were never made to feel welcome. The room wasn’t turned down for the night on my first night there and I had to make the bed with pillows etc from the cupboard. My a/c was broken and I requested for it to be fixed, no one ever came. Room service was constantly engaged due to a fault and getting transferred through was a nightmare. Another odd moment occurred when I had just come out of the shower and there was a woman standing in my room asking me about my laundry. Ridiculous. No apologies or a knock, in she burst and started firing questions in French. The staff in summary doesn’t have a clue, the receptionist was rarely at the desk and there’s no uniform so you can’t tell who works there and who doesn’t. Overall, they’re typically snobby and unfriendly. Too cool for school in my opinion. The rooms were good, with a few odd additions such as a sex pack on the bed so avoid if you’re a family. The rooms have a wrapped candle and incense stick holder in the loo but be warned they’re 25 pounds each if you remove them (they look like a gift but they’re not). Overall, I would avoid this hotel purely due to the service, it lacked atmosphere and seemed rather tacky as no one was there. The staff let this place down horribly. If there had been some people about and the staff were attentive and much more competent it would be great. The owner should give them all a kick up the behind at they’ve clearly invested a lot on the interior and perhaps held back on hiring experienced hotel employees I would recommend one of the more classic hotels on the beachfront instead
