Hotel Tannenhof - Baden-Baden, Germany     

The wife and I had a free weekend to burn and traveled to the Baden-Baden area for one night. This was a pretty little hotel on top of a hill on the south west side of B-B. The staff were very friendly and went out of thier way to make sure you had what you needed for a pleasant stay. Also, they were helpful when asking about and where the tourist attractions are. The room we stayed in was a 'standard double' which was Euro114. It was small, but clean and well kept. It had its own bathroom with shower, and just the basic furnishings. Not that it mattered, because you dont spend time in your room anyway - too much to get out and see. The price of the room includes a free breakfast in the little cafe ajoining the lobby. They had a bigger selection than I expected - the normal cold cuts, cheeses and bread, but also a wide range of cereal, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham and even smoked salmon - and of course juices, milk and coffee. Yum! Only down side to this little gem was that its not close to the pedestrian zone/ main attractions. Meaning you probably dont want to walk, however its a short drive or cab ride to these places (5 mins), and parking is surprisingly easy to find. Over all, I was pleased with this Hotel and would recomend it to anyone looking for an affordable option in visiting Baden-Baden. You can see pics of this Hotel on the website.
