Silverbirch Hotel - Omagh, United Kingdom 

The Hotel itself was a nice surprise. We have never stayed in Omagh before but wanted to try somewhere different so why not there. Our welcome was pleasent and we were very pleased with our room, good size and clean with all a nice large bathroom. The bar was modern although I wish I could say the same for the band or should I say one man band! The music was awful & really took away from the feel of the nice surroundings so much so we left the Hotel and went into to find something we were more at ease with. On a brighter note on our return to the hotel we were greated by our Night Porter, Andy. He was lovely and anything we wanted he got for us so thanks to him and he is a credit to the hotel. We also has requested breakfast to our room which arrived at the time we requested and it was great. just what we needed to start the day. All in all I would have no problems at recommending this hotel.

I have never stayed in a hotel in Omagh before and was very pleasantly surprised with this one. I come from the town so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I arrived very early and found the staff very helpful and considerate. I needed internet access and they went out of their way to make sure I got it for FREE. Now Omagh is a market town in the country and when they feed you, you know you have been fed. Great portion sizes, a very reasonable cost and the food tasted lovely. The only complaint would be the lack of a healthier food, grilled chicken or fish. I think the fact that I have a French wife and I am a trained chef will taint my expectation, but garlic fried potatoes need some garlic in them! The rooms are well appointed warm, comfortable and pleasant. Bathroom and shower up to standard. Complimentary toiletries plentiful and pleasant. The bar is large room and welcoming, the lack of a juke box very pleasing. Good range of beers for a Northern Irish hotel. Hearty breakfast, but only starts service at 7.30 I left at 7, but again the waitress did a very good job of doing me the toast and coffee I wanted. My only comment is nearly all the waiting staff need a course in some form of smiling. Grand hotel and I'll be back
