I was there beginning of May. Having read the noise issue I brought my ear plugs with me. Lucky me!!! The noise in the place is terrible and the not double glazing of the windows does not help. Forget about this hotel if you are noise sensitive. Otherwise if you are deaf, noise-is- ok-for-me or bring some remedy in the shape of ear plugs the hotel will be ok for you. Breakfast is really basic but the hotel is clean, recently refurbished and not very far away from St Wenceslas square. There is even a nice park 5 minutes away if you want to make some jogging. Overall good value for money. But just remember, if you are looking for silent nights keep on looking.

I booked a weekend in Prague as a valentine gift for my husband. The local COOP travel agent recommended the Centre Plaza, she said she had stayed there herself and that it was well located for the old town and Charles bridge - perfect for a romantic break. My heart sank when we arrived, the hotel is well away from the pretty/attractive parts of Prague and in my opinion is very poorly located and the name "centre plaza" is misleading, the hotel is near Wenceslas Square (10/15 minutes) but that is still a good walk from the old town square, Charles Bridge and the Mala Strana. The area surrounding the hotel is drab and generally very depressing. We waited 10 minutes at reception for a member of staff to appear and were dealt with efficiently but without any warmth. Our room on the 4th floor was very, very clean and all new in terms of fittings BUT it looked like it had been furnished from Argos and the beds were like sleeping on a pallet of bricks. The rooms, like the staff lacked warmth and we found the whole hotel, in terms of location and decor to be depressing and not in the least romantic, and at ?106 per night (booked via the COOP) it was very expensive for what it was. Breakfast had to be seen to be believed, moody, rude staff and an "orange drink!" which tasted and looked nothing like fresh orange juice though to be fair it was a nice nuclear shade of orange. I was horrified that my present to my husband was such a rotten one and so we checked out after the first night and moved to the Domus Balthasar located right on the Charles Bridge it was fantastic in every way and the staff were excellent. I would recommend the Prague Centre Plaza if you want very basic clean accomodation, don't mind being in a run down depressing part of a very beautiful city and using a cocktail of public transport to see the best parts - but if you like a little luxury, charm, an edible breakfast, pleasant staff and a central location this is not the hotel for you.
