TripTake Traveler Reviews
It is rated as a 2 star hotel but it is very clean, breakfast is included, furniture is pretty new through out the hotel, it has very good breakfast cold and hot (7:30-10:30am), staff is good and staffed 24 hrs. . I stayed 5 nights here and was satisfied with the location. There is a tram line near by and near the Metro as stated on Visocany, there is a very cheaply priced pizzeria on the metro and a small supermarket and pharmacy and bank! If you want to get a peek at normal Cesky life, this is the place to stay. The hotel itself offers various room accommodations. The rooms are very simple. Bed, lamp, bureau and dresser and a bathroom with shower and toilet and sink. The minuses are no phone, no clock/alarm, no internet connection thus its rated as a two star hotel. Surprisingly, the room was serviced everyday and given new towels everyday. (only minus was the towels were communist styled hard). There is a TV by the wide lobby and sofas for guests, internet connection (expensive $1/10 minutes)and a public phone and drinks for sale and postcards. You can pay by cash or credit card. Hotel guests were mostly in their 20s and 30s, as well as company groups. I recommend it.
After searching tons of review sites, I picked up this hotel which is outside the Prague center but one block from the B line metro station in Vysocany area.
This is a very utilitarian hotel -actually a cross between a hostel and a hotel. I found it cheap, clean and would stay there again.
The room was small, clean, own bathroom (WC), fresh towels, daily room cleaning free breakfast (7-10AM), internet in lobby, and no phone in room (but I didn't need a phone and I knew it ahead of time).
The staff was super friendly, esp Jana and Bara and they spoke English and were very courteous.
Since I didn't have any clock on me, nor there was a phone in room (so no wake up calls), the staff woke me up at 5AM, they had already scheduled a cab for me and even packed me a breakfast! You can't beat that.
In summary, this is a perfect hotel for budget traveler. It is outside center but you can be in center in 15 mins via metro B line which runs till midnight or 1 AM.
