Having booked my a week stay at 385.00 b&b then read the reviews I must admit that I was concerned.
After all I paid the price of a 5 star and was expecting 5 star.
The resort is 5 star, the oasis is not! be warned! However i refused to let this ruin my holiday and had a great time. The Oasis is pushing a 4 star, I did have a nice room with a great view of one of the pools( there are approx. 7 pools) and of the red sea. It was clean and fresh towels every day.
Breakfast - not really worth getting up for to be honest try getting a breakfast box, order the night before-this is not bad!
Yes the hotel is full of Russians however it is a big enough resort for you to do wot you want to do without any hassle.
I did sunbathe at the Prestiege pool every morning which was lovely and try a massage on the beach for around 10.00, the guy is fully qualified physical therapist and is very professional.
I had previously been to egypt however this was my first time to Sharm, am not a diving buff but used my week to relax in the egyptian heat however if you are interested in divingf then this is the perfect place for you!
The hotel is Italian owned, can be very expensive. shop at the old market, if your not afraid to mix with the locals you can get a local bus on the main road(little blue & white vans) to nama bay and old market for 2 egyptian pounds!
quad biking is a must! bring large scarff and sunglasses, wear jeans and trainers.
St Katherine Monastery has a very interesting past - bring some bread/fruit with you to give to the kids that sell rocks on the mountain-they will appreciate it.
Dont book your tours at resort-they are overpriced!
I must admit I could have got this holiday alot cheaper last minute and the resorts try and get as much money out of you as possible - you can get a more cultural feel and would be much cheaper if you go local.
A good option would be to hire your own local guide!
