Well after reading the review below i was optomistic about my stay at the Basilica, to my complete horror from the second we arrived we had nothing but problems with some of the biggest insects ive ever seen!!! Our first room had 3 COCKROACHES in the wardrobe, second room had COCKROACHES over and around our bed and the third room COCKROACHES coming out from under the kitchen sink!!. The hotel did nothing to help us just shrugged there shoulders kept moving us and told us to spray the room every night!! WHAT is that not the hotels job to ensure infestations of this level are kept to a minimum???. The spray we used was so toxic we could not eat in the apartment or bearly sleep in it and since on our return are seeking compensation due to these problems we feel ruined our holiday. I am not a difficult person and all i wanted was a room to hang my clothes and sleep at the end of the night yet this was impossible as COCKROACHES lay eggs which worried me the whole time i was there so didnt even un-pack. All in all if you want a good holiday in Paphos go elsewhere as the resort itself was beautiful, this hotel when we stayed there had nothing but complaint after complaints from other guest regarding COCKROACHES, dirty rooms etc. I hope this review helps people as i was so dissapointed i would not want anyone else to have the same problems as we endured at this hotel when they could have an excellent holiday elsewhere, which after speaking to neighbouring hotel customers it seemed only this hotel was the problem.
