Miramare Beach Hotel & Resort - Limassol, Cyprus 

The Hotel is at the end of "Americana Street " which is a dead-end and is right on the beach. I had heard this used to be a 5 star hotel & you can see signs this may have been the case. it is a 4 star and I agree lots of pools for both young and old ,( in september it is has more than the odd senior citizen) the entertainment in the evening was varied and suited myself and my wife , I did think they were catering for older couples etc. lots of local bars & restuarants We only had B&b but found it first class the outside "pelican bar" is lovely and very pleasant to spend a few hours . there seemed to be local functions on weddings etc on the weekends NEARLY FORGOT ! , they have renovated many of the rooms CATERS FOR MANY NATIONALITIES We liked it so much we will be back in september 2008

This is not a four star hotel as it supposed to be. It is well, well below that. The rooms are realy shabby. The first one we were given was old, the airconditioning did not work and had almost no sea view (although that is how they advertised it). We asked to be changed. We were given another room. It looked new ...until you slept in it. The pipes were very noisy, and nothing in the room seemed to work properly. We asked and one of the staff told us that the building is very old (from the 70's) and they get a lot of complaints. The view was only slightly better. Then the hotel has no grounds at all, it is squashed between other buildings and bars and lousy shops. The Spa is a joke. It does not look good and the therapists are completely untrained. She actually damaged my back! The breakfast was like canteen food, 2 star at its best. The service even worse...and so rude.Overall this hotel is not what agents say it is... and I guess it is not surprising as it is actually owned by a tour operator.
