Sandy Beach Hotel - Larnaca, Cyprus 

I was in Cyprus with my wife and one year old to attend a friends wedding and this hotel was conveniently close to the wedding venue. We arrived and first impressions from the outside of the hotel were not bad and once in the reception area things were still OK. It wasn’t until we went into the main body of the hotel that things started to go down hill. The main hotel corridors leading to the rooms are very dark and as people can smoke in all areas of the hotel the corridors and rooms all smell like a busy London pub before the smoking ban came in. Although it smelt the room was clean and the baby cot bed provided was of a good quality. The room was basic but acceptable. Given that all the rooms seem to over look the pool and bar area and can’t see them being particularly quiet or relaxing although we didn’t stay there long enough to find out. The outside area was not particularly clean and looked as though it could do with a major revamp but the hotel does back right onto the beach with direct access to the sea. Had it been just the wife and I we would have probably put up with things and stayed here purely out of convenience for the wedding that we were going to. As we had our one year old with us the facilities and cleanliness of the this hotel were not acceptable. There was no where for her to play safely and we had concerns over the quality of the food available and weather it would be suitable for her. There didn’t seem to be a specific baby menu or a dedicated play area. We are big fans of the Four Seasons in Limassol and after only spending an hour in the hotel we checked out and called the Fours Seasons to book a room there. We will not be going back to this hotel ever!!
