The hotel staff is very courteous and friendly, and money-exchange at the hotel lobby doesnt cost a fee like it does if you do it at the airport before leaving for Beijing. We used Gate 1 Travel and the included breakfast every morning was REALLY good, especially right before a trip to Tiananmen or Great Wall. Rooms were nice, careful of the ledge entering in the bathroom. Bathroom and room decorations were pretty nice, and I loved the bed-size, looked like a cute inbetween twin and full sized. Free broadband internet in the rooms, but not really worth the extra weight to bring my laptop so I used the business room in the lobby for quick emails checks, about 20RMB for the first 10 minutes which is all I really needed.. As with the most of the reviewers here, I found this hotel to be a very pleasant place to stay, and the price was reasonable for this level of hotel. The room was very attractive with lots of accent lighting. The in-room internet port (wired) was free and the speed was decent considering the Great Firewall of China. The staff throughout the hotel was friendly and super attentive. As an example, I was upgraded to a pricier room without even asking for it, after a problem with the a/c in the room first assigned.. At first glance the hotel seemed fine, though it is a taxi ride to anything. The good breakfast, free internet, and cheap price might temp some who are used to camping on the ground.
The bed's firmness, however, falls between concrete and dirt.
