Good Hotel for a Business Trip

Clean Modern Hotel. This was a one night visit on business with two colleagues. Room very clean and modern – whilst there were lots of mirrors there wasn’t really a dressing table – not a problem for me, but my wife would have complained. Bathroom clean – with plenty of toiletries. The room had a safe. A big plus – there was an English Electric Socket – no need for adaptors. We had an evening meal in the Restaurant. The meal was OK and well presented, but the restaurant had a “stuffy” feel to it, didn’t feel as though you could fully relax. Breakfast was excellent – but expensive (33CHF). The plus side is that you are able to eat as much as you want. There is big choice all the way from continental (ham & cheeses) through to (almost) English and plenty of fresh fruit. There is a chef who can do an omelette. We were told by the porter that we didn’t have to book a taxi – there were always taxis outside. This was certainly true whilst we were having breakfast – but when we came to leave we had to queue with other guests for a taxi. Eventually after 15 minutes we got one – so leave plenty of time to get to your meeting. Other reviewers have commented on the location. We did not venture out – but on the taxi ride away from the hotel there didn’t seem to be much to do in the immediate vicinity. Overall a good hotel for a business trip.

OK for a business stay

Spent there 3 nights for a business stay. + The room was clean and modern + Excellent breakfast, great choice of food + Location: if you are travelling by car... and we were - Noise with the tramway that almost stops in (front of) the room - Tiny room for 2 single beds - Location: if you're in Z?rich for leasure, you should know the hotel isn't located in a nice neighbourhood. Besides, it's really far from the center.

Okay Hotel - Bad Location

I have stayed at the Crown Plaza a couple of times in November and December 2007. I found the hotel itself to be fine with good facilities and efficient staff. The rooms I was given were quiet, clean and comfortable - not amazing by any standards but just what was needed. There was a good choice at breakfast and taxis were freely available in the morning. The real negative for the hotel is the location. There is nothing in the vinicity of the hotel to escape to in the evenings. Going out the hotel and walking for about a kilometer and you will eventually find some people and the odd bar but the area is really not the best and I ended up eating in the hotel at night. If you are simply staying at this hotel for a one night trip then you'll probably be okay, any longer than that and I would recommend going nearer the centre.
