I just returned from a two-night visit to Zurich, and a stay at the Neues Schloss Hotel. The hotel was central to everything the tourist might want to see, an easy 20 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof main train station. And it's just one easy block from the lake and a nearby park. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, I had many questions about using the local trains and trams, and getting info about tourist sites. The staff was unusually polite and courteous. The room was small but very clean and quiet. I was pleased that this hotel had windows that actually opened, allowing me to inject some fresh air into the room. The bed and bedding were plush and comfortable. One surprise: I had made plans to have a low-key dinner on Saturday nite in the hotel restaurant "Le Jardin", but to my surprise the restaurant is apparently routinely open only on weeknights, and closed every Saturday and Sunday nite. Still, as a Starwood Platinum member, I've experienced Sheratons and Westin hotels from awful to great. This hotel wasn't "great", but it was very good and met my goals for my visit to Zuirch.

Stayed at the Arabella Sheraton in Zurich Switzerland with my boyfriend for 2 nights and it was fabulous!! a 5 min walk to Lake Zurich where you can go swimming or paddle boat around and a 15 min walk to old town. the rooms were wonderful and the staff friendly. they did all our laundry in just a few hours for a reasonable price. super comfy bed!
