The location is really excellent, though -- central but slightly off the beaten path. I sleep with the window open and the only sound at night is from the occasional reveler, or maybe some tourist rolling a Samsonite on the cobble stone - but absolutely zero traffic noise. My room was small, yes, but a real jewel! Every detail of this centuries old house has been renovated to perfection, my room had silken teak floors like on a ship, a flat screen TV, and a wonderful little bathroom with shower (no tub). With attention to detail that you can only find in Switzerland, or maybe to accommodate the (mostly) young guests, there’s even a pimple-squeezer's magnifying glass (remember, we’re talking $100 per night)! The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, but also young, so maybe that is why I was given the wrong address of a famous landmark restaurant probably not considered “hip” by the youngsters today, the Kronenhalle (and they could have warned me it is not all it is cracked up to be. However, the hotel restaurant is pretty good so maybe there is no need to venture outside.. Read review

It is very well located in relation to the train station and the old town part of the city. There are a lot of good restaurants near by. The restaurant is also good for a quick, good, cheap (for Switzerland) lunch, however dinner is very over priced. The staff is professional and the rooms are a decent size for Europe. Our biggest complaint was that the refrigerator in the rooms are really large ice coolers and not true electric refrigerators.. Read review

Great location, rustic decor in modern Zurich would otherwise be a bit of a contrivance and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are nice and clean.
Easy access from the train station/airport and this hotel is a good value by Zurich pricing standards. The staff is courteous and helpful, toilet is big altough is a single room, the restaurant is amazing.
In the old city center and restaurants just around the hotel. Competent and friendly staff, quiet room. Good night chocolate on the pillows, wonderful food and great Swiss specialties.
Some of the towns more expensive properties, a small refrigerator.
There are many shops and little antiques placed in the hallway give this hotel the little extra touch to make you overlook room size. The staff is friendly and helpful, free internet is a super-plus for us.
Very convenient location and macdonald is just 3 mins away i found out during my last day of stay there. Moreover staff is courteous and the rooms are very clean. The evening restaurant is lively.
