Best Western Hotel Montana - Zurich, Switzerland     

Great hotel and excellent breakfast. Extremely good value for central Zurich, even if it is on the "wrong" side of the railway tracks - I notice the last reviewer says use the tram to Bahnhofstrasse but it is only a 5 minute walk . Room was a little small but if you want to stay in the centre of Zurich this hotel is very good value for money

The reviews for this hotel made me a little nervous about booking. I was pleasantly surprised by the location and the hotel itself. It is very close to the central station and two blocks from the Sihlquai station where the street cars 13 and 4 stop. The 13 will take you to the trendy Bahnhofstrasse stop. The hotel is also close to the Landesmuseum. There is a sex shop near the hotel but I did not notice any activity at the shop. The two ladies that checked us in during the day were OK but the guys there at night were very friendly. The rooms were a decent size for Europe. They have a nice lift and breakfast was fine. It consisted of eggs,sausage, fruit, cereal, yogurts, juices, and coffee. CNN is the only English channel in the room although recent movies can be rented in the rooms for 20 francs. The rooms were very neat and clean. Not a lot of restuarants in the area and the city shuts down about 7:00. We were there for two days and I think that is plenty of time to see Zurich.
