Hotel St. Josef - Zurich, Switzerland 

well run clean hotel excellent location

We had 3 days at hotel Saint Joseph and found it a wonderful start to our European holiday. Arrived using the hotel transfer SF 30 for 2 of us and delivered right to door. A room was made available to us by 9.30am very welcome after a 24 hour flight. The room was clean the beds good. Extra pillows provided at I prefer to use foam due to allergies.It had a tea/coffee in room and windows that open. Bathroom was good standard too. Hotel staff provided us with maps and advice and at all times were friendly and helpful. The hotel was an easy walk to the train station and shopping areas. A plus was the restaurant at the hotel with good tourist menu at $25. we would certainly stay there again and have already recommended it to friends.

Great value hotel in a good location. The rooms and bathroom were clean and the breakfast was great. Would recommend highly to the budget traveller.

Not so good

I hate to disagree with almost everyone, but we were not pleased with our stay here, and it was mostly due to the smell of the rooms (we had 2 adjoining rooms with room for 4 people). I do realize that there are not as many non-smoking rooms in Europe, but our rooms smelled like a CAMPFIRE. The stale smoke and beer smelled horrible...I don't think I could have slept in the room that our kids stayed in. Location was very convenient indeed, and the breakfast was fine too. But for the price paid, even in Zurich, I expected better.
