3If you're not a mega millionaire, the Schweizerhof Hotel Zurich is one of those places worth splurging for. The place exudes class and as long as you've got yourself in the proper psyche state and attitude, you'll be treated with respect and deference. To those who complain about the front-desk treatment or snooty staff, I say wear some proper shoes and socks next time and tuck-in that shirt, for the Schweizerhof Hotel Zurich commands the same respect as you're expecting to receive.
Located directly across from the main train station, this is a location that cannot be beat. An entrance to the underground shopping arcade which connects to the station is just footsteps away, so even in the foulest weather you need not worry about catching a taxi or tram to get to the hotel.
Once you're at the hotel and ensconced in your room, enjoy the high ceilings, luxurious old world charm and sumptuous bathrooms. Nevermind that the room might be a little smaller than that to which you are acustomed (mine wasn't), this place was built in a different age when, somehow, our square footage requirements were more modest. Then go to sleep, for the best is yet to come ... breakfast!
Breakfast at the Schweizerhof Hotel Zurich is second to none. Enjoy the extensive buffet, rich coffee, and don't be afraid to order a custom omlet from one of the many waistaff. It's the icing on the cake, a great way to start the day and you won't want to leave.
