Exelence for 3-star hotel, good place in the center of city! minus - no parking for car

The hotel-residence was well located for the Lake & Old Town & a short bus ride to the railway station.The room was a mini-apartment with kitchen but utilitarian & lacking in character. Some rooms appeared to be temporary residences.There was no maid over the two days spent there. This would not be a first choice if returning to Geneva. Reasonably priced.

Some investment on the part of the hotel owners should allow for a refurbishing of the derelict (fake)-wooden plating of the furniture, the faded carpeting and the unmatching bedcovers and curtains. The bathroom should be more thoroughly and regularly cleaned (corners and tiles). One would expect a four-star hotel to be less kitsch in its public areas decoration (except the restaurant which was impeccable) and to have better taste when decorating each room for the sake of visual harmony.

Saint-James is probably the worst hotel i have ever been to. The room was so noisy me and my girlfriend got only a few hours sleep, no breakfast, used glassed and pieces of soap in the bathroom and kids playing in the corridors from 11:00 to 02:00. When i called the receptionist he replied "i have talked to them and they wont listen. there is nothing we can do". What about asking them to leave the hotel for instance? This hotel is on a downward spiral and i would have asked for money back if i was up for the hassle. Never stay at Saint-James.
