Location

Zermatt is car-free - no motor vehicles are permitted. Horse-drawn sleighs and carriages, electric vehicles and bicycles are the only modes of transport allowed. Zermatt is situated at an altitude of 1,600 metres above sea level. It is located at the foot of the Matterhorn in the Valais Alps, in the south of Switzerland. Travel from Visp through the Visper Valley, at the end of which Zermatt is located. In the mountains around Zermatt you will find 38 of the 76 European "four thousanders". The skiing area stretches from Theodol-Col (3,300 metres) and Testa Grigia (3,480 metres) to Cervinia in Italy.

Everybody in the staff did everything to make our stay a wonderful experience and our rooms on the East side were quiet. The breakfast variety was wide in food choices, the dinners were excellent. . Read review
