The Listel Hotel was our second stop on our honeymoon. Our first stop, The Coast Hotel Victoria, BC was so great that it was hard to transition to Listel without noticing a few minor flaws. On the plus side: The Location- It couldn't be better. Right in the heart of the city. The Customer Service- We attended the Managers Reception on the first afternoon we were there and enjoyed free wine and appetiezers. We briefly met one of the managers and were discussing our honeymoon plans. The next afternoon we returned to our room and there were chocolate covered strawberries and a card welcoming us to the hotel and congratulating us on our marriage. How thoughtful! On the down side: The room was a bit dingy and small with a few small rips in the curtains. Our windows just faced the alley so we didn't have much of a view. It wasn't really a big deal but it was hard after coming from a great hotel and view in Victoria.

We stayed at the Listel for two nights on our way to the east coast. We found the staff friendly and helpful, and the room spacious and clean and tastefully decorated. I did have a problem with noise however, with the room we booked backing onto a side street. The hotel restaurant was good, not excellent, and a bit pricy for us. Location was excellent, with attractions within walking distance.
