I took a group of friends away to Blueberry Lake as a surprise for my wife's birthday in January and it was just about perfect. The location, 25 minutes north of Mont-Tremblant, is the ideal blend of quiet seclusion and easy access to the ski centre and other activities. The chalet itself exceeded my expectations in terms of design, luxury and amenities. Combined with the friendly, helpful staff and the services provided (skating on lake or rink, restaurant in the central lodge, spa, chalet hot-tub, etc.) plus the easy access to skiing made for a truly wonderful experience.
It helped that the weather was perfect (highs of around minus 10 with clear blue skies), but I would recommend Blueberry Lake to anyone who is looking for a luxurious, relaxing winter break.
We took advantage of the resort's association with the nearby Alaskan Husky Adventure company who took us on a 2-hour dog-sledding adventure - an experience not to be missed! This was arranged through Blueberry Lake's own activities concierge who gave great advice and excellent service - in keeping with all the staff we encountered. Our only regret is that we were not there long enough to do more...
I would highly recommend this place to anyone unless, perhaps, you plan to ski all day, every day - even then, the drive (finishing with 5 kilometers of snow-covered rural road) would easily be worth it for me. I would also STRONGLY recommend the service where a chef cooks for you in your own chalet.
I hope to return at other times of the year to experience the resort in different seasons. But this winter visit may always be my favourite.
Our 2 day stay at Blueberry Lake Resort exceeded our expectations. We spent literally half an hour visiting all the rooms when we arrived. Each room was as beautiful and as clean as the next. We felt quite priviledged to be guests at this Resort.
