Nord Hotel - Plovdiv, Bulgaria 

This hotel is located on the other side of the river away from the centre of Plovdiv however the it is easily accessible by foot. Maybe a five min walk. It is a new hotel which is really clean and fresh making it a good 3 star, especially for the price. The only downfall is that the curtains are not thick enough to block out all of the sunlight in the morning. If you are accustomed to a western breakfast it would probably be best to get it elsewhere. Finding a western breakfast anywhere in Plovdiv is a bit of a challenge. The staff are really friendly. There is also a really nice man at reception who can speak very good english and who is incredibily helpful.

Hotel Nord was our most favorite hotel during our 2 week stay in Bulgaria (Black Sea to Sofia). It is clean. The staff is friendly and very helpful especially the hotel manager, Petko. He speaks perfect english, which is helpful when one doesn't speak Bulgarian. He went above and beyond the call of duty making sure our stay was pleasant in Plovdiv. The rooms are great with a great location, quiet and air-conditioned. Ask him about Stephanie, a local tour guide. She was also fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone passing through Plovdiv!
