Best Western Le Morgane - Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France 

... just a great comfortable room and friendly, obliging staff. Had a wonderful (though short) stay of 2 nights at Le Morgane in May this year. Staff were very friendly and welcoming with lots of personal touches that you don't usually get in a hotel this size. After catching the night train from Paris we arrived early (around 10.30am) feeling grotty and tired so we were very grateful that the staff were happy to let us check in early. Lady on reception was very nice, escorted us to our room and then popped back soon after with some chocolates. Room itself was great, modern, clean and comfy with a great view to the Aguille du Midi cable car station and of course the mountain itself. Location was nice and central - very easy and quick to walk to the Aguille du Midi station, the SNCF train station, train to Mer de Glace and the shopping / eating areas in town. Didn't hear a peep from the nearby disco that has given other posters grief. It may have been closed (this was late spring), but whatever the reason we didn't hear anything and we sure didn't have any trouble sleeping! Loved Chamonix and loved this hotel.
