Brilliant Hotel in a Great Location!!!

My friends and I had a great start to the new year by staying at this lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location as the Rogier Metro only across the street, shopping is just 2 minutes away and the Grand Place only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. There were three of us staying in one room and it was still very spaceous and really clean. What a find, we will definately be back!

The general opinion of the hotel is largely positive. However, the hotel wanted to charge me the costs of using an international calling card (Telecom Columbus) as a full international call. Depending of the policy of the hotel, they can charge a service, not the cost of the call, which is NOT charged at all to them by the local provider. After strong protests (more than 30 minutes), they agreed with me and I did not pay any costs.

Brilliant location. Gare du Nord literally 10 mins. Shopping area 5 mins in opposite direction. Metro station within stones throw. Breakfast is cold continental. Room we got was a very good size, warm and comfortable and checked every day by the house keeper. Most of the staff were charming and helpful. Facilities like bar non existent but there seems to be a link up with the Hotel Progress. which is a more plush affair, behind the Colonies. One incident where a young female receptionist refused to give me a tray to take some coffee to my room. (Not allowed -more than my job worth.) spoiled things a bit-
