Our experience at Hotel vendome was so good, i highly recommend this hotel. Super efficient, well run, clean, curteous staff at all times. Good food and super central location with high security mesures has to make it a top hit for a Brussels hotel.

Did I really sleep in a sauna ?

Found the hotel ok, and checked in. Man insisted on ?20 deposit for mini-bar and phone, even after assurances that neither would be used. Corridors to room, and room itself unbeleivably hot for a summer month. Underfloor heating must have been on full blast, and radiator on in the bathroom - unable to control either. Air-con cooled far corner of room only. Most unpleasant night's (lack of) sleep due to the heat of the room, and bathroom even hotter ! That said, no complaints at all about the breakfast, which was lovely, as was a Saturday night around the Grand Place area of the city. Comments about room temperature on departure rendered the man on reception suddenly unable to understand much English at all. Would we go there again ? Most definitely 'Yes'. To the same hotel ? Most probably 'No'.

Booked through Leisure Direction - were offered this hotel as a substitute for our original choice which turned out to be fully booked. Disappointed because have used this company for years and they have not let us down before. There are not words to describe the awfulness of this miserable place. It stank of smoke. Our first room had a constantly banging pipe, we complained and got one without a clanking pipe but which was always dark because it looked on to a wall. No bathroom door. not enough towels. Staff were okay but not exactly committed. Dark, dingy, run down, not properly cleaned. Not restful, horrible in fact. Brussels is fab however.

Es un hotel extraño. Tiene una parte renovada, o que están renovando que está completamente en obras, pero curiosamente en opiniones de viajeros que leí que estuvieron hace tiempo, esa parte del hotel ya estaba así, o sea, que deben de llevar en obras mil años. Ves los cables sueltos, las escaleras en obras, increíble, solo falta que te den un casco...Luego la habitación, cuando consigues llegar está bien. El baño está completamente nuevo, y la habitación aunque no es preciosa no está mal. Pero tenía para mí un defecto grandísimo: olía muchísimo a tabaco, pero muchísimo. Al tener moqueta supongo que hay poca forma de evitarlo porque por mucho que ventiláramos siempre olía a tabaco. La ubicación del hotel es perfecta, para mí inmejorable, un pequeño paseo hasta la Grand Place a través de una calle totalmente comercial. El desayuno podría estar mejor pero tampoco está mal. El personal del hotel, depende....desde gente muy competente hasta gente con poco conocimiento de español, inglés y demás, y muy perdido con todo....En general considero que para unos días el hotel no está mal. No sé si me volvería a quedar allí, pero tampoco le diría a alguien que no fuera. Eso sí, aseguraros que os alojan en la parte nueva del hotel aunque cueste un poco más, porque lo otro no me quiero imaginar como puede estar....
