Hotel Erasmus - Bruges, Belgium     

The Hotel Erasmus is a very well located hotel just off the central square in Bruges. It is decorated to a high standard and is very clean. We were disappointed that it does not have a bar! The one criticism we have is that reception was a little slow.

My wife and I (a mature American couple regularly traveling in Europe) stayed in the Erasmus for three nights in mid-April. The hotel is small and has been newly renovated and is just lovely. It is located about a three minute walk from the large market with the bell tower. An elevator is available, but not necessary. We had a room on the second floor looking over the street. The room was quiet, good sized, and with a large bed. The en suite bathroom was very nice, with a good shower. The manager of the hotel couldn't have been more helpful about where to find places in Bruges (or Brugge). Make sure you don't miss the restaurant!! The food was excellent. And the selection of beers on tap (the manger tells us it's largest in Bruges and changes on a monthly basis) is just great. Highly recommended!!
