We found this place by reading the Tripadvisor reviews and just could not have been more thrilled with the place. The staff is just incredible; the breakfast included Belgian waffles made individually for you (or eggs any way you'd like them - my husband had a ham omelet one day and scrambled eggs the next). The room (number 8) was not the most expensive (80 euros a night) - but the bathroom was so clean, new, modern and sparkling we felt we were in a luxurious 4 star hotel. The bed was very comfortable; we had a view of the Cathedral from the window and a flatscreen television over the modern fireplace.
I just cannot say enough good things about the St. Salvators and wish our stay had been more than the three days we were there.
Oh, and I must mention the added attraction of Speedy the adorable cat. He is probably the most photographed kitty in Belgium and doesn't he just know it. It was a crack-up to watch staff remove him from the breakfast room (they know that not everyone is a cat-lover). Great entertainment.
