Visited Bruges to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Booked this superb hotel through Eurostar website. Hotel Flanders was an absolute find! Looked at reviews first and this helped our decision. The staff were all so helpful and friendly, especially the two young girls on reception. They went out of their way to make us feel valued. We had a superior room with balcony and it was very comfortable and so clean. Breakfast certainly filled us up for day! Local restaurants were wonderful especially Peppermill they also know how to look after people. Bruges is an absolutely fabulous place to visit. Everywhere is so clean and the people are lovely . We are definitely going to return. Even the building works at the hotel didn't put us off, it is going to be a great asset to the hotel when it's finished.

Our trip to Bruges was our Ruby Wedding gift from out children and they wanted us to stay in a comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of the many wonderful locations in the old city of Bruges. Although we arrived early our room was ready for us and the map we were given by the charming and helpful receptionist made touring the city on foot very easy. It enabled us to steer clear of busy routes and to see the many picturesque little streets and alleys as we moved around to the many points of interest. Our room was very comfortable and a lot of thought had gone into the layout, for instance excellent lighting where needed and especially illuminating the wardrobe. The bathroom layout and plumbing were very good as was the fact that we could sleep with the french doors open and the long mesh drapes let the light in and kept the bugs out. The receptionist offered to book us into a good restaurant for our anniversary dinner and the Peppermill just a few doors from the hotel deserves a special mention for quality food and service. On the subject of food the breakfasts served in the hotel we among the best we have had on our many travels. The range and choice of hot and cold food, cereals, bread and rolls, fruit etc., were enough I am sure to tempt the most discerning palete and the facilities we did not have time to use like the swimming pool are on the list for our next trip. The Flanders Hotel is central but in a quite and old area of the city therefore you are not disturbed by a great deal of external noise so 'oldies' like ourselves as well as young families will find this a perfect location.
