When we arrived at 3.30 pm our room was not ready. They had to keep ringing the housekeeper to see where they were with room changeovers. We asked for a twin - and got a double - it's a good job my friend and I are close! The room was very small and oppressive , not helped by the awful dark brown decor which appeared thorughout the hotel. Amenities for storing clothes abysmall, tiny wardrobe, and no depth to the drawers. Breakfasts were good - reception staff were superficially ourteous - they did not go out of their way to create a particularly friendly reception - no apology for having to wait for rooms for example, no directions to the room - they were getting fed up of repeating themselves I guess, as there was a queue. No help for some of the older guests with their cases. Although ideally situated in the town centre, I am sure visitors could do much better and I would certainly not recommend this hotel!

stayed at the martins for two nights lately and i must admit i got more than i expected. it is a lovely hotel in the center of brugge,modern facilities, very nice rooms, excellent breakfast and the staff were very helpful and kind. ther is also a very nice bar that has happy hour (8-9pm) and serves many kinds of excellent belgium beer. i found a new city to revisit and the martin's is defenitly my new home in brugges!
