Prinse - Antwerp, Belgium     

We picked this hotel because it looked different - a mixture of old Antwerp and modern. The website photos were accurate - the courtyard is charming and I wish we'd been there in the summer! The room was huge and very comfortable - maybe this is because we chose a twin room, as we sneaked a look into some of the double rooms and they didn't look so big. Decor was subtle, bedding comfortable. Bath and shower were great, toiletries replaced daily, constant hot water, plenty of towels. The staff were welcoming, very helpful yet unobtrusive. We were given maps and directions to places we wanted to visit, taxis were ordered and we were allowed to leave our bags at reception after we checked out. Great location for the city centre and the old town. Although the hotel doesn't have a bar, there are bars on every street corner. The nearest 't Keiserke (I think that's what it's called) is lovely, as is the one on the next corner, Madre Tierra (great coffee!)
