Hilton Melbourne Airport - Melbourne, Australia 

The Hilton is located directly across the road from the international and domestic airport. One can walk along the road and follow the signs or stroll through the covered walkway on arrival level 2. It takes approx 5 minutes walk , you can also take your luggage trolley up the lift to level 4 to the hotel foyer. The hotel is large and modern built out of steel and glass. Our room was called a king size deluxe suite which was positioned on the corner of the building overlooking the airport with excellent views of the planes taking off and landing. The room was large and comfortable with an extra large plaza TV and working desk with broadband connection. Basically, the room catered for all aspects regarding requirements for business people. The bed was extremely comfortable and pillows dreamy. The bathroom was very spacious with a walk-in shower and bathtub. Good vanity unit and make-up mirrors. Breakfast was okay with two chefs and a good selection and variety of cooked food. There was also a juice extractor with fresh fruit supplied, however this was tiresome to do and to me in most hotels there is usually some-one who does the job for you. Dinner was adequate with a excellent wine list. Facilities - consist of health club, gym and swimming pool. We have stayed at numerous International Hilton airport hotels around the world and we found the Hilton in Melbourne to be equal with the others. If looking to be close to the airport for an early/ late flight departure then the Hilton will suit your needs.

Firstly they put me into a smoking room. I asked to be changed but they had no more rooms, they also tried to tell me it wasn't a smoking room even though there was an ash tray on the table!! Secondly my king bed I was looking forward to was in fact two singles put together. There was no top sheet just a quilt. It was very cold - probably didn't help that some bright spark set the air con to 7 degrees!!! I thought it was going to snow, it was that cold. It was about that time I started searching for blankets before hyperthermia set-in but true-to-form there were no blankets just more pillows! About three hours later I started to thaw-out after changing the temperature settings. I was going to ask for a discount when checking-out but as it was all pre-paid, this was impossible. All up it was pretty poor.
