Arrived to be greeted by check in staff talking to each other while I was asked to fill in my forms. Should have realised that there was going to be a problem from the lack in interest in the visitor. Had booked an upmarket Club Room for 3 nights (& 1 night on return from the Barossa). Staff were very off hand when we asked directions to a local attraction. Found our way to room which had been recently renovated (decor only). Bed & pillows were poor quality. The worst was to come when after dinner and a walk around the city we returned to our room. Despite double glazing we could hear the booming noise from the nite club opposite (stupidly thought that it would soon stop) and the vibrations from the hotel Airconditioning. Gave up at 1.30 am and demanded that we be moved to another room - only slightly better at the back of the hotel. Still drunken noise from a neighbouring building but at least the A/C was quieter.
Checked out at 9.00am and cancelled our booking. Staff member (who sighned us in) tried to charge us for an extra night because we didn't give 24 hours notice. Naturally refused!
Unless you are into the nite club scene NEVER stay here.

My wife and I travel extensively in Australia each year. We had booked the hotel via the phone the previous day . We had given our credit card details and had a confirmation number. . We gave then a UK number but said it was pretty meaningless as we were touring in OZ
We arrived at 4 .30 the next day and struggled with our luggage to the reception desk
We were told that there was no room for us. I explained I had a credit card confirmation.
Eventually they admitted they had overbooked. They said they had tried to contact us by phone during the day (??)
The manager on duty did not handle it will well. Apart from apologising she did ring and find us a room at another ,more expensive ,hotel . After some discussion they agreed to match the difference in price.
In all my years of travel this has never happened to me before and we were concerned about the status of the other bookings we had for our trip.Fortunately the rest were OK
