Fasthotel Roma Sud - Frascati, Italy 

It's an excellent hotel for the price, however, it's way out of the way from metro area Rome and buses going to the hotel stop running early. If your renting a car and know your way around it's an economical way to stay at a good, clean hotel with good yet minimal service. After all we only needed a place to sleep, change and put our stuff. There is too much to see in Rome to spend any time in a hotel. So i highly recommend it if you have a means of your own transportation, but if your going to use the metro, find something closer to the stations because otherwise, you'll be walking to the hotel for a few miles in the middle of the night and/or be restricted to sightseeing by operating hours of the trains and buses.

OK, imagine the rest stops with restaurants off of turnpikes/toll roads in the US. The thing where it's not an exit off of the interstate, but a place to pee, eat, & get gas. Now, imagine that same set up with a Hotel attached to it. That's what the FastHotel is. We live in Italy and had some friends from the States visit. We're all about being as cheap as possible, so we went to Ryanairhotels and booked the FastHotel. It's the cheapest thing you'll find in the Rome area, and it's actually a fairly nice place, especially for Italy. Clean, new rooms, friendly staff. No food, but there's an Autogrill (Rest stop restaurants in Italy) right next door! Look, romantic this is not. The location "---" as you're trapped on a highway. But if you're looking to save some cash, and you're willing to brave the terrors of the Italian highway, then it's alright. If you find yourself here someday drinking an oil can size Faxe beer in the parking lot, drink a toast to Ben and Burt.
