The hotel was lovely and the location was good. The resort of Opatija is ideal if you want something a bit chilled out but classy. This resort and the country are beautiful. Whilst here I took a trip round Istria in a hire car (careful - the agencies can be unreliable) which was really good & worthwhile. Also went on an excursion from the hotel to the Plitvice lakes which are beautiful and you get to see a fair amount of the country on the way. Very interesting if you have a good tour guide as you get to learn about the history and culture.
