Firstly, the hotel's name is now Hotel L?v?r, not the Bio-Sport Hotel Lover. Also not that the name is L?v?r, not Lover. L?v?rek is the name of the mountainside district above Sopron where there are a number of other holiday resorts. The hotel is nestled right into the forest where there is a ski slope and many walking trails. It is a bit away from the city itself, but there is a bus stop within 100 meters of the front of the property that can take you into town to the train station within about 15-20 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver. I did the walk into town a couple times and it took approximately 30 minutes. The hotel rooms offered were pretty standard with a TV with Hungarian, German and English language channels, a mini-bar, a terrace that likely will face the forrest that surrounds the hotel. The rooms left a bit to be desired as everything was a bit dated. In fact, we had to ask to have our room changed after a quick inspection found the bathroom door look broken. Our new room had a bathroom faucet leak. Clearly quality of their rooms could use some upgrade. Room rates usually include a breakfast buffet and one other meal, but don't included drinks that are served by the wait staff such as bottled water, wine, beer and spirits. I thought the spreads for breakfasts were quite good by Hungarian standards and had enough to satisfy Western European tastes as well. We sampled both the lunch and dinners during our stay and thought they were generally fair as its quality varied. There was usually a good entree or two that was offered and the soups were of high quality. There were also some quality desserts offered. However, we did notice that there was "recycling" of the leftovers from the previous evening at times. Furthermore, Hungarians, in general, have a penchant to oversalt their food and their chef certainly did just that on several of his offerings. The hotel also has in its basement a small swimming pool, jacuzzi and saunas as well as a weight and exercise rooms. These were okay, but I found them quite crowded even during this low season when the hotel was maybe 40% occupied at most. I would hate to see it during the high season as there would be no elbow room. We also found it to be understaffed and no towels made available for their guests. There were also a "beauty and wellness center" on the top floor where treatments and massages were offered. We took them in and found it to be quite nice as it seemed it was relatively refurbished. There was also a tea room in the far back of the center that guests could utilize at any time without having to use the center, and they had teas and freshly-squeezed juices available. We found it quite nice and relaxing room as it had a nice view of the forest and it received a lot of daylight. The interior common areas are okay, but the layout for the game room, cafe & lounge, dining area meeting room needs to be reworked as the layout is very clumsy. For example, the meeting room is in the back of the dining room and numerous visitors had to walk through the dining breakfast crowd. Even worse was the lounge area that is adjacent to the cafe that is supposedly non-smoking, but was never enforced as Hungarian guests routinely disobeyed the signage, which would peeve a non-smoking person as they would have to pass through the haze to get to the dining room. The staff was good, especially the wait staff, with many of them able to speak German as Sopron is a favorite resort for Austrians and Germans. However, very few of the staff were comfortable conversing in basic English.
