Stayed in the hotel for one week on business. Conference facilities in the hotel were also used, which were excellent in terms of the room and the refreshments given during breaks. Hotel room was fresh and clean, staff were very helpful - you can rent a bicycle from the hotel, organise opera trips etc. Breakfast usual good selection. Not cheap in terms of room cost but for Vienna is about normal, only 5 mins walk to main shops etc. Don't use the room telephone, this is a rip off!

After a long train ride from Prague, we had finally made it to our Vienna Hotel. What was first thing on our TTDL? Laundry. So I produced my trusty Vienna map to the front desk clerk and ask him to point us the way, picked up some Vienna Pass's from him and we were off.....Back to hotel. Sofitel Vienna is in a nice quite location just outside the ring and a few short steps from either Opera house or Stadt Park. The hotel was nice and comfortable but we really did not spend much time in the hotel. Staff was always ready and willing to assist us with all our questions for each day as we ventured out. At times they could be over helpful which is just fine by me. Great Job Micheal!

Stayed here for 2 nights 26 & 27 March. Arrived at 23.30 after taking a bus from Bratislava airport. I was a little concerned that they may have given our room away. As it turned out, the check in was very fast and efficient (typical Austrian). Modern room and bathroom with all the facilities required. Good TV reception for Sky & BBC News. Very comfy king size bed with good pillows. Nice quilts. Excellent breakfast including hot choices, fruits, cheeses, smoked fish etc. The breakfast restaurant was full and busy, but it all worked very efficiently. Could not fault it. and lasted us most of the day We were on the second floor, overlooking the road. No rooms with any view,s as the hotel is surrounded by commercial and residential buildings. Some road noise in the morning, but no worse than any othe city hotel. I'm sure the rooms on the upper floor would be a bit quieter. Located 5 minutes walk from the Opera house, but easy to get to the tourist sites from a tube station 2 minutes walk. away. Tube is 5 euro for 24 hour pass. Also very close to tram line for route to south train station for Bratislava. Also very close to the main theatre and a palace (can't remember their names) for evening concerts etc. Overall just what we expected from a 4 star Sofitel. Very clean and efficient. Good for as Vienna city break.
