For a christmas weekend break, you can't beat Vienna. We stayed mid December when the christmas markets were in full swing. The Levante Parliament is very close to the Rathaus (town hall) and the christmas markets at the Rathauspark are definitely the best in Vienna, although our experience during Friday daytime was much more pleasant than on the weekend when the market was so busy you could hardly move, with no chance of getting a mug of Gluhwein! During the day we walked all around central Vienna from the hotel, although we got taxis at dinner time as it was very cold and I was not up for walking in my heels! The metro station is close if you want to head out to the palace for a visit. And the museum quarter is also close by on foot. The hotel is a good standard for a design hotel though our room (superior) was a little small. The other strange thing was no curtain on the bathroom window. This wasn't an issue from a privacy perspective as the building opposite was a disused factory with frosted windows. But it did mean the bathroom was a little chilly in the morning. Breakfast was pretty good, although both times our hot food order was mixed up and we had to chase it. However getting a cooked breakfast is a nice change from most European hotels. Overall the Levante Parliament is decent value for money if you want good location, and nice quality modern design hotel. Also - be prepared for the 'two single beds pushed together equals a double'! See my review of Restaurant Steirereck for a wonderful if pricey dining option in Vienna, and be sure to get to a concert as well.

I chose to stay in Levante Hotel during a short break. My opinion after the two days is a little bit confused. Amazing reception, really warm and fast check in, but room was not what I have expected. Small, really noisy because of the street, if you can choose the internal rooms, looking the terrace. Breakfast was really good and stylish, I had also dinner at hotel's restaurant and I can say that it was good enough. But again, I didn't enjoy as much as I wanted my stay there cause of the noise during the night. Really not nice to being in a noisy room after a long day around city.
