Excellent location particularly for young people. Very poor breakfast if you are not there at 7:00am.

Good location in marvelous central Vienna, but these accommodations were actively bad. The room was very tiny and very dirty Also, we were cheated out of two-nights' payment. Although we had notified the manager that we would be leaving two days early (and did this with 72 hours' advance notice), they still insisted on charging our credit card. The room was not very nice. There were clumps of dust the size of old golfballs all over the floor. I mopped the floor myself with a towel when I arrived. The room had small, low, creaky, lumpy old student beds and an old student desk, as well as a window that had been painted over (couldn't see through it) and could be opened only about two inches. Overall, by the end of my stay I had become very angry at these folks, and would not recommend anyone else ever staying at the Marc Aurel.

Small hotel near city center, no sitting area in lobby. Decent buffet breakfast at connected restaurant. Non-smoking room on top floor was quiet but small. Bathroom small but not cramped, corner shower. 5 minute walk from Schwedenplatz U-Bahn. Several good restaurants next door. Bars and clubs for younger people around the corners, crowds on popular nights. Wireless in room by T-mobile 15 Euros for 3 hours, not much more than nearby internet cafe. Enjoyed my stay but on checking my credit card slip at home I found that the transaction was charged automatically in dollars with an exchange rate that cost an extra $45 for the week.

I shared a triple room with two colleagues. The position of the hotel is very good, within the historical center and close to the underground. The room was clean. Unfortunately the hotel has no internet connection (neither cable nor wireless).
