2The description on the site seemed nice but the reality was terribly diffrent. Hotel Cristall doesn't deserve it's three stars, and it needs immediate renovation. For starting, the first impression is that you go back in time, in the 80's. The entrance in the hotel is dusty and dirty and the reception hall (even if the receptionists are kind) looks unclean and unfriendly.
Although the bed linen and the towels were very clean, they seemed to be old and used. The room had a TV with a damaged screen, the images were divided in three colours: red, yellow, and blue. From three heaters only one was functional. Nevertheless, the breakfast buffet was ok, diverse and tasty. Luckily, Vienna offers so many things to see and to visit that you don't stay much in the hotel. You just go there for sleeping... still, if you are looking for a cosy low budget hotel, Cristall is not the place to be.
For its credit I will add it is situated in an area close to the centre and to Hundertwasser house and it is easy to get from there anywhere in Vienna.
