I stayed for a month at the Atlas Hotel with a law school group from New Orleans. The Atlas is pretty clean, it has a good restaurant/bar downstairs and the Price is good. But when I went it was the summer time and for 2 weeks out of 4 the temperature was over 100 Degrees F or 38 degrees C. The hotel DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING and they only have a few fans. It was miserable day and night. I am sure the hotel is fine the rest of the year (if they rent rooms), but I would not stay there again in the summer.

I went to Hotel Atlas to attend a conference, and picked this place to save some money. This "hotel" looks like a student dorm (which I suspect it is). It is worn, with dirty floor carpets and walls (however no insects). The room was hot, and the bed was not good and very narrow. Also, the breakfast was boring, with a poor selection and long queues. The room actually had a TV, even if it was very, very tiny! I did not have high expectations, but i was actually quite disappointed. However, they provide you with a decent and cheap broad band connection, and the receptionists were OK. If price is the only thing that matter, feel free. Otherwise, i would spend a little bit extra to have a proper motel/hotel.
