2.4Our stay at this hotel got off to a poor start. When we- a group of 6 seniors- arrived at the hotel for our 4 night stay we were told that they had no reservation for us.Approximately one hour after we produced our Venere confirmation and voucher the receptionist admitted that the booking had indeed been made but that Venere had failed to send the usual confirming email to the hotel and, as a result, it would be one hour or so before they could have rooms ready for us.When we returned to the hotel two hours later we were offered two 3-bedded rooms in place of the two double plus two single rooms that we had booked!Suffice to say that, after an unduly long time, matters were eventually sorted out by the one (and only!) stressed out receptionist with whom we were obliged to deal.No manager or senior representative of the hotel ever appeared during our stay.
Incidentally, I am quite satisfied that the fault lay, not with Venere, but with the hotel as we observed similar problems with two other groups during our stay and they had been booked through other agencies!
On the credit side, this hotel provides a particularly good and varied breakfast and is not expensive by Vienna standards. It is really not very far from the main tourist areas of this beautiful city which are easily reached by public transport once you have become familiar with the excellent public service.
